The Presiding Archbishop and General Overseer of Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, has commended President John Dramani Mahama for being a man who “doesn’t forget” and possesses great humility.

Speaking at the Accra International Conference Centre during the President Mahama Fellowship with the Clergy, Archbishop Duncan-Williams recalled an incident where someone who had offended the President approached him.

Despite the past offense, President Mahama embraced the individual warmly. This act of forgiveness left the Archbishop wondering, “What kind of a man is President Mahama?”

Drawing a parallel with former South African President Nelson Mandela, the Archbishop remarked that Ghanaians have a leader in President Mahama who embodies similar virtues of forgiveness and reconciliation.

He further emphasized that the ability to remember and appreciate the past is a mark of righteousness, quoting the Bible to support his point.

“He doesn’t forget. When you read Hebrews 10:15, it says anyone who doesn’t remember where he or she is coming from is not righteous,” he stated.

Archbishop Duncan-Williams urged President Mahama to remain steadfast in his forgiving and non-vindictive nature.

He also advised government ministers and appointees to follow the President’s example by avoiding retaliation and using their positions for the greater good rather than settling personal scores.
