A newly refurbished Early Grade Resource Centre at St. Monica’s College of Education has been commissioned.
The facility was set up through a collaboration between the management of the college and a non-governmental organization called Sabre Education.
The former assisted with counterpart funding whereas the latter furnished it with tables, chairs and other teacher-learner resources needed in teaching early grades.
It was commissioned on Thursday, 10th April,2025.
Head of Department of Education Studies for the college, Mr. Yaw Acheampong said the resource center will serve sister schools within Asante Mampong Municipality and all Early Grade teachers.
Before setting up the center, he said the college had a mini center which was not spacious. It also lacked enough learning materials.
“This facility will go a long way to help us do the teaching and learning of Early Grade proper.”
Briefing newsmen, Principal of the College Rev. Father David Okyere underscored the commissioning as a dream-come-true, saying getting a spacious and well equipped Early Grade Resource Centre for the college was one of his visions since he took over as the Principal.
He said center will help offer learner-teachers practical exposure and make learning much flexible for them.
He encouraged the teachers to make effective utilization of the facility.
