Nyinahin is set to host one of the country’s new 24-hour Model Markets, a promise fulfilled by the President, the Atwima Mponua District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Ibrahim Issahak, announced during the 41st National Farmers’ Day celebration on Friday.

The Assembly, in collaboration with the Chief of Nyinahin has successfully secured land for the project, which is expected to boost local trade and economic activity.

Hon. Issahak also highlighted the upcoming bauxite mining operations at Kyereyaaso, with the Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC) ready to commence mining at Block A. Selection processes for companies to operate Blocks B and C are well advanced.

The mining initiative promises to create numerous jobs and significantly reduce unemployment in the district.

On infrastructure, the DCE reported completed projects including the Mpasatia Police Station, a 2-unit Doctor’s Bungalow at Anwiafutu, and a 20-seater WC toilet facility with mechanized borehole at Nyinahin.

Projects nearing completion include a 2-unit KG Block at Bayerebon No. 3, while construction continues on another 2-unit KG Block at Kotokuom D/A Primary School.

New District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) projects under procurement include:

  • 2-unit KG Block with office, store, washroom, and mechanized borehole at Akotaa
  • 6-unit classroom block with staff common room, store, and WC facility at Agogoso
  • Two CHPS compounds with equipment and boreholes at Mpasatia and Wansamire
  • Ten mechanized boreholes across Adupri, Baniekrom, Okyerekrom, Otaakrom, Nyinahin Zongo, Nyinahin Abobonwin, Nyinahin New Site, Ntobroso, Akantansu, and Kataatwoa

Hon. Issahak assured that the Entity Tender Committee has reviewed all reports and contracts will soon be awarded.

He concluded by pledging continued efforts to secure more development projects for the welfare of the people of Atwima Mponua.
