The Christ Apostolic Church International (CAC Int.) has joined the nation in mourning the untimely passing of two government ministers and six other public servants who perished in a helicopter crash near Obuasi on Wednesday, August 6.

In a solemn statement issued by the Church’s Chairman, Apostle Samuel Amponsah-Frimpong, the Executive Council, and the entire congregation, CAC International expressed its deepest sorrow and heartfelt condolences to the Government of Ghana, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and the affected families.

The tragic incident claimed the lives of Hon. Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister of Defence; Hon. Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Minister of Environment, Science, and Technology; along with six other esteemed public officials during an official working visit.

“This devastating incident has not only shaken the foundations of our national leadership but has also left a deep wound in the hearts of all Ghanaians,” the statement read.
“The lives lost were those of distinguished public servants who devoted themselves wholeheartedly to promoting peace, safeguarding national security, and advancing the sustainable development of our nation.”

The Church extended its sympathies to President John Dramani Mahama, the Government, the NDC, and all grieving families. Calling for national unity in the face of the tragedy, CAC International encouraged Ghanaians to honour the memory of the fallen through a renewed commitment to service, sacrifice, and patriotism.
“As a Church, we pray that the God of all comfort will strengthen the bereaved families, grant eternal rest to the souls of the departed, and guide our nation through this painful period with peace and unity.”
Quoting Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted” – the Church concluded with a message of spiritual solace and national solidarity.
