Concerned Elders of NDC at Atiwa East Constituency have registered a strong disapproval of any attempt to name Hon. Ernest Owusu Ntim, Constituency chairman as the District Chief Executive for the area.

They have called on President John Dramani Mahama and other appointing authorities of the party to ignore giving him the post.

Their reasons are that, Ernest Owusu Ntim has been a party chairman since 2014 and that his performance has not been satisfactory.

According to them, the foregoing has affected the membership of the party.

In their petition to the President, dated and signed by Edmund Bonsu, the NDC branch chairman for Akyem Anyinam and the spokesperson for the group , they alleged that the Chairman is over-authoritative in his approach towards party leaders in the constitutency, resulting into division among the rank and file.

“Mr. Ernest Owusu Ntim has thrown his weight around, especially over some elders of the party, old executives and critics of his leadership and all parliamentary candidates who have stood on the party’s ticket since 2014.

These comrades have had to consistently face his irrational behavior.

Besides, he doesn’t have the manner to talk with people who he disagrees with and lacks work etiquette that forsters comradeship”, they stated in the petition.

On the issue of accountability, they fingered that the Chairman has hindered participatory democracy, stiffling electoral fortunes.

Premise on the above, they have opined that the Chairman is not good for the DCE position.

“We urge the appointing authority to consider these concerns when taking the final decision in deciding who will become the DCE of the Atiwa East District.”
