The Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) has paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, former Minister of Energy and Education, to express their appreciation for his instrumental role in the revision and successful passage of the Institute’s governing Act during his tenure as Minister of Education.

The delegation, led by ICAG Chief Executive Officer Mr. Kwasi Agyemang, met Dr. Prempeh and acknowledged his contributions to strengthening the legal framework that governs the accounting profession in Ghana.

In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, Dr. Prempeh expressed gratitude for the visit and commended the Institute for its continued commitment to professional excellence.

“I appreciate this gesture and commend the Institute for its dedication to excellence. May ICAG continue setting world-class standards and nurturing professionals who will help drive Ghana’s prosperity,” he stated.

The ICAG Act, which was revised under Dr. Prempeh’s leadership at the Ministry of Education, forms a key part of the institutional reforms aimed at elevating the standards of accountancy practice and education in Ghana.

Dr. Prempeh, who currently serves as a prominent figure within the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), continues to receive recognition for his legacy reforms in the education sector.
