The Ejisu Municipality celebrated the 41st National Farmers’ Day in grand style last Friday at Asotwe, where farmers, traditional authorities, government officials, and residents gathered to honour the dedicated men and women who continue to sustain Ghana’s food systems.

This year’s national theme, “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future,” guided the celebration, which was graced by prominent personalities including the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Jerryne Asante. The event also featured a special acknowledgement of the President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, as displayed on the official event billboard.

A major highlight of the occasion was the presentation of a brand-new tricycle to the Municipal Best Farmer, Kyeame Kwame Serbe, on behalf of the Member of Parliament for Ejisu, Hon. Kwabena Boateng.

The gesture was led by the Constituency Vice Chairman, Mr. Kwame Bonsu, accompanied by other constituency executives.

Speaking on behalf of the MP, Mr. Alexander Owusu commended farmers across the municipality for their resilience, innovation, and commitment to ensuring food security. He reaffirmed Hon. Boateng’s dedication to supporting agriculturists whose work remains critical to both local and national development.

“As a constituency, we value our farmers. Hon. Kwabena Boateng believes that rewarding excellence motivates more excellence. This tricycle is not just a gift; it is a tool that will enhance productivity, transportation, and overall efficiency on the farm,” Mr. Owusu noted.

The award recipient, Kyeame Kwame Serbe, expressed profound gratitude to the MP and the constituency leadership, adding that the tricycle will significantly ease the transportation of produce from farm to market.

The event featured colourful cultural displays, exhibitions, and awards across multiple farming categories, further highlighting agriculture as the backbone of the nation’s economy.

Officials of the Ejisu Municipal Assembly reaffirmed their commitment to collaborating with the MP’s office and other stakeholders to empower farmers and promote sustainable agricultural development in the municipality.

The celebration ended with a renewed call for sustained investment, innovation, and strategic policy support to secure the future of Ghana’s agricultural sector.
