The Ghana Education Service (GES), Kumasi Metropolitan Directorate, has honoured Mr. John Akwasi Amponsah, Chief Executive Officer of Brilliant Publications, with a special citation in recognition of his exceptional contribution to education within the metropolis.

The honour was presented to Mr. Amponsah for his outstanding commitment and support as the Headline Sponsor of the Brilliant Publications Literacy and Numeracy Challenge for basic schools in the Kumasi Metropolis.

The citation was presented today at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi during the Brilliant Publications Inter-Circuit Literacy and Numeracy Competition, which brought together primary schools from various circuits within the metropolis to showcase their literacy and numeracy skills.

In the citation signed by Mr. David Oppong, Metro Education Director, the GES commended Mr. Amponsah for his “sponsorship and dedication to educational excellence,” emphasizing that his support continues to contribute meaningfully to the promotion of literacy and numeracy among young learners.

Receiving the honour, Mr. Amponsah expressed his gratitude to the Ghana Education Service and reaffirmed Brilliant Publications’ commitment to supporting quality education in Ghana. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in strengthening foundational learning and inspiring a culture of academic excellence among pupils.
The Brilliant Publications Literacy and Numeracy Challenge forms part of a broader effort by the GES and its partners to raise educational standards, improve reading and problem-solving skills, and foster a love for learning among pupils in basic schools.
