Richard Mensah, the coalition’s Executive Director, voiced serious concern over the deteriorating state of the highway, pointing to data that highlights poor road conditions as a leading cause of accidents along the route.

The group is calling on the government to take urgent steps to begin maintenance work on the highway to prevent further loss of life. They have issued a two-month ultimatum for the government to commence repairs. Should there be no progress within that period, the coalition warns it will stage a protest by blocking the road.
The coalition stressed that the highway has already taken a heavy toll, claiming the lives of many, including key breadwinners, and leaving families devastated. They are urging swift government intervention to prevent further tragedies and avoid escalation.
