Former Minister for Works and Housing and Member of Parliament for Bantama, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye, has taken a firm stand against what he describes as a misrepresentation of facts surrounding the Ho Main Road Dualization Project, calling on Ghanaians to prioritize truth over political spin.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page, Asenso-Boakye highlighted the history of the project, stating that although the contract was signed in mid-2016, actual construction began in 2017 under the administration of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The project, he emphasized, was completed during Akufo-Addo’s tenure.

“Interestingly, Roads Minister Hon. Agbodza uses this very road anytime he travels from Accra to his constituency. Yet he claims he has toured the country since assuming office and didn’t see the road projects executed under President Akufo-Addo,” the post read.

The Ho Main Road Dualization is among the 13,624 kilometers of road infrastructure reportedly developed under the current NPP government.

Asenso-Boakye’s comments come in direct response to recent assertions made by Roads Minister Hon. Kwame Agbodza, who has questioned the visibility and impact of road developments under the previous administration.
“The facts are on the ground. The evidence is clear. Let us be guided by truth, not politics,” Asenso-Boakye concluded.
The statement has reignited debate between the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) over infrastructure accomplishments and transparency in public communication.
