Wrestling icon and TV star Hulk Hogan, real name Terry Gene Bollea, has died at the age of 71. The WWE legend suffered a cardiac arrest, it is understood.

It has been reported that medics were dispatched to the 71-year-old’s home in Clearwater, Florida.

The sad news comes just a few weeks after his wife, Sky, had to deny rumours he was in a coma after concerns grew over the star’s health.

In May, Hulk underwent minor surgery for a “little fusion procedure” on his neck, which prompted social media speculation.

One YouTuber had claimed that sources had informed him that things were “not looking good” for the icon.

However, a spokesperson for Hulk furiously denied this and insisted he was in full health. They said that Hulk’s surgery had been “successful” and there were “no reasons to panic.” They went on to add that: “He just needs from time to time a medical check up.”

A statement from World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) on X said: ‘WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away.

“One of pop culture’s most recognisable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”
