Officials of World Vision Ghana in the Sekyere Afram Plains Area Programme have commemorated this year’s Christmas season with a thanksgiving service at Drobonso, the district capital.

The event, which took place on Wednesday, was organized in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the Sekyere Afram Plains District Assembly, the Local Council of Churches, as well as children registered under the organisation and their parents.

The thanksgiving service was held to express gratitude to God for His protection and blessings from the beginning of the year to its close. It also served as an opportunity to bring together partners, beneficiaries, and community members to reflect on the year’s achievements and celebrate the festive season.

A key highlight of the programme was the presentation of dignity kits to female children registered under World Vision Ghana and some of their parents. The items included towels, sanitary pads, bags, and other essential supplies aimed at supporting the health and well-being of adolescent girls.

Presenting the items, the Area Programme Manager for World Vision Ghana, Ms. Priscilla Ntim, explained that the gesture was part of the organisation’s commitment to supporting children and families, especially as the year comes to an end. She noted that the donation was also intended to strengthen the spirit of togetherness and care during the Christmas season.

Speaking to journalists, Ms. Ntim emphasized that the presentation of the dignity kits aligns with World Vision Ghana’s core mandate of ensuring that children enjoy life in all its fullness. She explained that the organisation continues to support beneficiaries in critical areas such as education, health, nutrition, and spiritual nurturing, particularly in vulnerable communities.

The thanksgiving service brought together various stakeholders, reinforcing the strong partnership between World Vision Ghana, its development partners, local authorities, churches, and community members in promoting child well-being and community development in the Sekyere Afram Plains District.
