Work Meaningful Foundation; a U.S-based non-profit organisation has put up an ultramodern 2-storey class room block for Akyeremade D/A Junior High School (JHS) of the Atwima Kwanwoma District.

It was commissioned on Tuesday, 1st July, 2024, recording a colourful attendance of traditional leaders, officials from the district education directorate, past and present assembly members, residents, etc.

The fully furnished facility consists of 6 class rooms, a computer laboratory, 7 washrooms, headmaster’s office.

Over One Hundred Thousand U.S Dollars was named by executives of the Foundation as the contract sum that was injected into the construction and furnishing of the block.

According to Gideon Aboagye, Chief Executive Officer of Gaboagye Real Estate Limited; firm that was awarded the project, construction of the block commenced in 2023.

Commissioning

At the commissioning , Headmaster for the School, Samuel Asante thanked the foundation for the support.

He remarked that, the newly constructed block will salvage the school from academic pressure caused by the huge student population.

He explained that, the steady growth of the student population impacted heavily on the limited number of class rooms “and so we had to move some students to study under trees. There were times we had to rotate them.”

The headmaster noted that, the situation worsens anytime there was rain.

Amidst excitement, he said following the commissioning, students will no longer study under trees.

“We now have a safe and dignified environment for education”.

He promised to ensure maintenance culture and make sure it serves the purpose for which it was built.

Justin Jones-Fosu, Founder and Chairman for Work Meaningful Foundation told newsmen that, they visited the school in 2019 and after hearing from authorities challenges confronting the school, they were moved to offer assistance as an organisation that offers educational initiatives for undeserved communities.

He said he was excited the project has been completed and that students will now be able to enjoy more of quality education.

He said the foundation looking forward to speeding up the construction of a Technology laboratory and a new primary block for Atwima Akyeremade D/A school.

Justin Jones-Fosu urged the students to make good use of the facility and study in excellence as well.
