The Women’s Caucus of Parliament has lauded the Mayor of Accra, Hon. Michael Kpakpo Allotey, for what they described as a “humane and well-thought-out” approach to the city’s ongoing decongestion exercise.

The commendation was made on Tuesday when the members paid a working visit to the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) to assess the impact of the decongestion operation on women traders and explore avenues for parliamentary support.

Led by the First Deputy Majority Whip and MP for Ada Constituency, Hon. Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah, the Caucus said they were impressed by the Mayor’s engagement with stakeholders, relocation plans for displaced traders, and his emphasis on preserving the dignity of vulnerable women in the informal sector.
