People often wonder why I have diverse business interests in various industries — from shipping and logistics to aviation, construction, mining, and modern agriculture.
The simple answer is that I am ambitious. I was raised that way and taught to believe that I could achieve great things. Even before I started McDan Group, I knew I owed it to myself to have a business vision: something that drives me, makes me excited, and gives me purpose.
Electrochem Ghana Limited is one of the visions that drive me a lot these days.
When I first noticed it, I saw an opportunity to build major infrastructural and operational facilities to increase productivity and expand the output of the salt concession. I saw an opportunity to turn Ada Songhor into a first-class salt producer with the highest reputation for customer service, offering quality salt products at a fair price in the markets that the company serves.
So, this is just to remind you to not let the fear of failure or rejection hold you back from pursuing your goals and dreams. Take chances, seize opportunities, and put yourself out there, knowing that even if you don’t succeed every time, you’ll learn and grow from the experience.
Your growth and development will rarely be handed to you on a silver platter. Just as you make your own luck, you have to create your own opportunities. Don’t shy away from any opportunity to learn something new or try something different.
