A fresh wave of controversy has hit Ghana’s political space after Prophet Prince Brown, General Overseer of Shammah Fire and Miracle Ministries, declared that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will win the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primaries slated for January 31, 2026.

In a passionate prophetic message shared in an interview with www.leakyGhana.com, the clergyman claimed that the outcome of the primaries had already been “decided in the spiritual realm,” adding that Dr. Bawumia was divinely chosen to lead the ruling party into the 2028 general elections.

“This primaries is a done deal. There will be commotions and chaos afterward, but Dr. Bawumia will emerge a winner with an increased percentage,” Prophet Brown said.
However, his message took a controversial turn when he spoke about Kennedy Agyapong, describing the Assin Central lawmaker as “not ready for the throne.”

“My problem is Kennedy Agyapong, the man you are doing directions for and prophesying with books for. He is not ready. The directions don’t even penetrate. He is okay with his money and job. Some spirits are fighting the man; he is under a spell,” the Prophet declared.
Prophet Brown urged party members and intercessors to “channel their spiritual focus to Bawumia,” claiming that the Vice President is the vessel God intends to use to “change the fortunes of Ghana.”
Despite declaring Bawumia’s spiritual victory, Prophet Brown also issued a stern warning to the Vice President, saying his future success would depend on the kind of spiritual guidance he accepts.
“Bawumia too will not surround himself with true prophets. Fake, money-minded prophets are confusing and frustrating him. He must get connected to true prophets,” he advised.
The prophet concluded his message with what he described as a spiritual sign confirming his prophecy:
“It rains at my place today, and my altars are wet. The realms are open and that’s why I have given the final verdict for the NPP presidential primaries 2026, and the winner is Dr. Bawumia.”
His statement has since generated intense debate online, with supporters of both Dr. Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong reacting sharply.
Some described the message as a divine revelation, while others dismissed it as political manipulation cloaked in prophecy.
Observers note that such religious pronouncements have become increasingly common in Ghanaian politics, with several prophets claiming insight into the outcomes of elections and party contests.
Political analysts warn that while these prophecies can energize supporters, they can also deepen divisions within parties and among the electorate.
As the NPP heads toward its 2026 presidential primaries, Prophet Prince Brown’s prophecy adds yet another layer of drama to what many predict will be one of the most fiercely contested internal elections in the party’s history.
