Twenty Emaswati have been employed at the newly opened Hungry Lion branch in Siphofaneni.

This was announced by the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo, during the official opening of the franchise.

Minister Khumalo: “New investments in the country creates jobs and contribute to economic growth. I have been informed that Hungry Lion has committed to hiring and training local staff which will create valuable employment opportunities particularly for the youth of this community and surrounding areas. Local companies are encouraged to provide the store with quality inputs hence strengthening the local value chain in business. The business has a presence in Eswatini since 1999 and Elangeni Food Group since 1994.”

Minister Khumalo: “The employment opportunities that have been availed by the business have assisted workers to have a decent life and the ability to provide for their families’ needs. As His Majesty’s Government we highly appreciate such positive contributions to the economy and urge other business to also emulate what Hungry Lion has done.”

Minister Khumalo: “I would like to place emphasis that the business community has a prominent role to play with regards to ensuring the forging of alliance with businesses in the same value-chain.

Hungry Lion has displayed their commitment to this endeavor by sourcing their meat and other products locally.”
