The Principal for Jackson College of Education, Mrs Theodosia W.Jackson has underlined instilling of moral values in children by parents as an ideal too to curb the prevalence of corruption in Ghana.

She believes that aside focusing on the usual academic training, parents should teach their children to hate corruption.

Mrs. Theodosia explained that, in doing that, children will grow to appreciate the need for integrity.

She added that, transparency and hardwork will form the basis of their lives and that if majority of them work in government as adults, they may instill the same values and reform the corrupt government system.

Speaking to www.leakyghana.com in an interview granted on the sidelines of the celebration of Weweso Primary School’s 70th anniversary,  the Principal for Jackson College of Education lamented over the hike in juvenile delinquency among Ghanaian youth.

Mrs.Theodosia sad it is hard these days the see a parent, employing the service of a teacher to teach their wards on the values of hard work, determination, benefits of reaping what one sows, professionalism good morals, integrity or the fear of God.

“Private classes is always centered on our traditional subjects as usual”.

“It is important to bring up a new generation that is ready to fight corruption in the country.

For this to happen, parents and teachers must begin to cultivate it at home and at school”, she admonished.
