The First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Her Excellency, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio has safely arrived in Angola to grace the official launch of the WeAreEqual campaign.

She was received by the First Lady of Angola, Her Excellency Ana Afonso Dias Lourenço.
Sierra Leone had successfully launched similar campaign which has gained momentum across every sector in the country.

WeAreEqual brings together African First Ladies, partners, and allies to advance gender equity and close the gender gap across the continent.
Led by the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), the campaign emphasizes a fundamental truth: We are equal — and always have been. Our healthcare, education, economic opportunities, and freedom from violence should be equal too.

This campaign represents a unified effort to promote gender equality and empowerment, aligning with Dr. Fatima Maada Bio’s dedication to improving the lives of women and girls in Sierra Leone and beyond.
Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio’s participation underscores Sierra Leone’s commitment to collaborating with other African nations in fostering an inclusive and equitable future for all.

Her Excellency was also welcomed by the Sierra Leonean community in Angola where her advocacy for a better Sierra Leone was commended.
