Ghana’s Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye received a delegation from the leadership of the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications at my office on Saturday, 7th September, 2024.
The delegation was led by Ing. Dr. Kenneth Ashigbey, Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber, and Ing. Patricia Obo-Nai, Chief Executive Officer of Telecel Ghana, Mr. Leo Skarlatos, Acting Chief Executive Officer of AT, and Nana Kofi Asare, General Manager, Legal & Regulatory Affairs at Scancom (MTN Ghana).
Discussions at the engagement centered on deepening collaboration between the Ministry of Roads and Highways and telecommunications providers to address challenges related to telecom infrastructure during road construction projects.
At the meeting, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye reaffirmed Ghana government’s strong commitment to working closely with the telecommunications service providers, ensuring that telecom infrastructure is effectively protected and seamlessly integrated into ongoing and future road developments.
According to him, the foregoing is in line with government’s broader agenda to enhance national connectivity and drive digital transformation across the country.
