A Kumasi-based clergyman, Prophet Dr. Prince Brown, has issued a strong warning to Ghana’s Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, advising him to abandon any intention of contesting for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential flagbearer position.

According to Prophet Brown, who is the Founder and Leader of Shammah Fire and Miracle Ministries, any attempt by Hon. Iddrisu to contest for the party’s highest political slot would end unsuccessfully.

The cleric claimed he received a divine revelation concerning the political future of the seasoned lawmaker and former Minority Leader.

Delivering the prophecy during a watchnight service on the night of December 31, 2025, Prophet Brown said he had “seen in the realms of the spirit” that Hon. Haruna Iddrisu has not been destined to become President of Ghana.

“I saw this clearly in the spirit,” the prophet declared. “He must not attempt to contest for the NDC flagbearer or presidential candidate position. If he does, he will lose. His path has already been marked, but not for the presidency.”

Prophet Brown further stated that the Education Minister has instead been divinely prepared for the powerful role of Chief of Staff in a future NDC administration, a position he believes Hon. Iddrisu would excel in due to his experience, loyalty, and administrative competence.

“He has the wisdom, strategy, and discipline for Chief of Staff,” the prophet added. “That is where God has placed him in the future. If he obeys this direction, he will succeed and be fulfilled.”

The prophecy has since generated mixed reactions political observers, with some urging caution over the growing influence of prophetic declarations in Ghana’s political discourse, while others believe such revelations form part of the country’s spiritual and cultural landscape.

Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, a long-serving Member of Parliament and respected figure within the NDC, has not publicly declared any intention to contest for the party’s presidential slot, nor has he officially responded to the prophecy at the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, Prophet Brown reiterated that his message was not borne out of personal interest or political affiliation but was, according to him, a divine instruction meant to guide the nation and the politician involved.

“This is not politics; this is prophecy,” he emphasized. “I am only a messenger.”
