Sierra Leone’s President, Dr. Julius Maada Bio, and his esteemed wife, First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, attended a welcoming dinner hosted by South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, in a significant prelude to the 2024 Korea-Africa Summit.
The event brought together delegations from African countries, prominent international organizations, and key figures from the Korean and international business communities, academia, and civil society groups.
The dinner aimed to foster international cooperation and set the stage for discussions on shared growth, sustainability, and solidarity.
The 2024 Korea-Africa Summit, scheduled to take place in Ilsan, promises to be a landmark event with the theme “The Future We Make Together: Shared Growth, Sustainability, and Solidarity.” African Heads of State and leaders of Africa-related international organizations are expected to participate, highlighting the mutual benefits of strengthened ties between Korea and the African continent. President Bio’s presence underscores Sierra Leone’s commitment to international collaboration and sustainable development.
