President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, today received the outgoing ambassadors of Angola, Malta, and France at the Jubilee House, commending their invaluable contributions to strengthening bilateral relations and promoting economic cooperation with Ghana.

In separate farewell meetings, President Mahama expressed appreciation for the ambassadors’ dedication and reiterated Ghana’s commitment to deepening diplomatic and development partnerships with their respective countries.

Strengthening Ties with Angola

During his meeting with Ambassador JoΓ£o Domingos Baptista Quiosa of Angola, President Mahama highlighted the growing collaboration between the two nations, particularly in the areas of oil and gas, renewable energy, cocoa production, and educational exchanges.

β€œGhana values its partnership with Angola, and we look forward to further cooperation through knowledge-sharing and joint initiatives that drive growth in strategic sectors,” the President noted.

Malta–Ghana Relations Anchored in Trade and AfCFTA

President Mahama praised Ambassador Jean Claude Galea Mallia of Malta for his over seven years of service in Ghana, which has fostered strong diplomatic and personal bonds between the two nations. Discussions focused on expanding trade and investment under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

β€œWe are keen to build on the momentum of growing Malta–Ghana trade ties, leveraging AfCFTA to unlock new economic opportunities,” the President said.

France’s Expanding Economic Footprint

In a meeting with Ambassador Jules Armand Aniambossou of France, President Mahama welcomed the increasing French business presence in Ghana, with over 60 companies now operating across various sectors.

He commended France’s continued support for Ghanaian entrepreneurship, particularly in the creative industries, through a €2 million initiative, as well as its significant investment of over €90 million in the Feed Ghana programme focused on agricultural development in the northern regions.

β€œFrance’s multifaceted partnership with Ghana is yielding tangible benefits for our people. We are committed to maintaining a business-friendly environment that encourages sustainable investment and innovation,” President Mahama affirmed.

The farewell engagements underscored Ghana’s enduring commitment to strengthening international partnerships and enhancing socio-economic development through strategic diplomacy.
