Paul Adom Otchere, the chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited and host of Good Evening Ghana on Metro TV, has recently become the subject of widespread attention after reportedly traveling to the United Kingdom following John Dramani Mahama’s unexpected victory in the presidential elections.

His sudden departure from Ghana has sparked numerous speculations, particularly after his phone was found lost at Heathrow Airport shortly after he arrived.

This intriguing detail was revealed by Hanna Louisa Bissiw, the Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, during a live broadcast on Radio Gold. She explained, “I’ve been trying to contact Paul since the election results were announced. He needs to respond to certain questions,” before attempting to call his number live on air. To the surprise of listeners, the phone was answered not by Adom Otchere himself, but by a Heathrow Airport staff member, who confirmed that the phone had been found on a plane and was being held at the front desk.

Adom Otchere’s absence has only intensified public curiosity, particularly due to his outspoken remarks leading up to the election. In the months before the polls, he strongly criticized Mussa Dankwah, the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, who had released a series of polls predicting a win for the NDC in both the presidential and parliamentary elections.

Adom Otchere dismissed Dankwah’s forecasts as inaccurate, calling him a “disgrace to the research community” and accusing him of using flawed methods.

Additionally, he mocked the NDC’s chances, predicting a resounding defeat that would force the party to rethink its strategies. With the election results now favoring Mahama, critics are seizing on Adom Otchere’s earlier comments, viewing the outcome as a validation of their own beliefs.

His absence has further fueled the speculation surrounding his role and the sharp contrasts between his pre-election predictions and the actual results.
