The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has commissioned a new Maternal and Child Health Clinic in the town of Juapong, marking a significant milestone in the constituency’s healthcare delivery system.

The facility, developed in partnership with the Engage Africa Now Foundation, was completed and fully equipped within six months. According to the MP, he personally donated all the required medical equipment to ensure the facility is fully operational from day one.

“This facility has the capacity for 3,000 safe deliveries in a year and would tremendously improve maternal health outcomes,” Hon. Ablakwa stated during the commissioning ceremony.

The new clinic is expected to address long-standing maternal and child health challenges in the area and significantly reduce the risks associated with childbirth.

In addition to the commissioning, Hon. Ablakwa used the occasion to unveil a series of major infrastructure projects that have received government approval. These include:

1. Construction of the Aveyime–Asutsuare Road

2. Construction of the Juapong–Podoe–Abutia Road

3. Construction of the Sege–Battor–Mepe Road

4. Construction of the Volivo to Dorfor Adidome Bridge over the Volta River

5. Construction of dormitories, dining halls, and science laboratories in all five Senior High Schools within the constituency

6. Construction of a teachers’ bungalow

In a further show of support for education, the MP announced that his office will cover the cost for all Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in the constituency to check their results free of charge.

“Despite my demanding national and international commitments, the good people of North Tongu can be assured that there will be more projects and initiatives now than at any other time in the past,” he affirmed.

Hon. Ablakwa emphasized that these developments form part of a broader vision aligned with President John Mahama’s “Reset Agenda,” aimed at ensuring equitable development across all regions.

“My beloved North Tongu shall receive its fair share of development under President Mahama’s Reset Agenda,” he concluded, promising even more initiatives in the near future.
