NPP Parliamentary candidate for Oforikrom constitutency, Michael Aidoo has supported the 2024 municipal Best farmer, Godwin Beduro with an amount of GHs 5000 and 30 bags of organic fertilizers.
He announced the donation on Friday, 8th November, 2024 during the celebration of the Oforikrom Municipality’s version of 40th National Farmers’ Day.
The generous support from the candidate added up to the list of items Godwin Beduro received from the Oforikrom Municipal assembly for emerging Best Farmer.
The items were a brand new three-wheeled motor vehicle (aboboyaa), knapsack sprayers, bags of organic fertilizers, cutlasses, wheelbarrow, wellington boot, etc.
Mr. Michael Aidoo told newsmen on the sidelines of the celebration that the gesture is his way of encouraging farmers in the area.
He said contribution by farmers calls for much motivation and support.
As part of measure aimed at making the Oforikrom Municipality a hub of vegetable produce, he said he is equipping vegetable growers with technological skills to boost productivity through a collaboration with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
He said incorporating technological innovations into traditional farming will improve production practices, increase crop yields and ultimately increase local patronage.
He said abundant vegetables will discourage buyers from patronizing farm produce of neighboring counties.
Michael Aidoo said he is more than set to support farmers within the Oforikrom Municipality and therefore called on all to vote for him massively for the parliamentary seat in the upcoming elections.
