Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus and the Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, has delivered a spiritual and political message to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following their recent Delegates Congress.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, July 20, 2025, A Plus congratulated the NPP on successfully organizing their event. However, he did not hold back in issuing a warning. He stated that although he quietly hoped it would rain during the Congress—just to see if some NPP members would use umbrellas, the symbol of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) he was still glad the party had a strong grassroots base. He emphasized the need for a vibrant opposition to keep Ghana’s democracy healthy.

Despite his commendation, A Plus warned that the NPP had offended a “very powerful spirit,” which he believes is now haunting the party.

According to him, unless the NPP humbly seeks forgiveness and promises to do better when in power, they may struggle to regain political dominance.
He suggested that only by doing so could they stand a chance of returning to power in 2036.
A Plus also praised Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, for his developmental works in the Gomoa area. He highlighted projects like the Pomadze Poultry Farm, feed mills, hatcheries, and the Kwame Nkrumah Ideological Institute, which now forms part of the University of Education, Winneba.
He strongly believes that Nkrumah’s spirit lives on, and has returned through former President John Dramani Mahama, citing Mahama’s vision and leadership style as evidence. A Plus warned that any party that tries to erase Nkrumah’s legacy will not succeed, calling for full respect for Ghana’s true founder.
