Mr. Nii Nai Gogo, a security consultant, correctional professional, and U.S. Army veteran, has commended the Ghana Prisons Service for successfully organizing the Maiden Inmates’ Runway Fashion Show at Kumasi Central Prison in the Ashanti Region.
He described the event as innovative and transformative, noting that it reflects a modern correctional philosophy that prioritizes rehabilitation, skills development, and positive self-expression alongside security and discipline.

Drawing on his professional background and expertise in correctional systems, Nii Nai Gogo emphasized that the fashion exhibition demonstrates the importance of shifting correctional institutions beyond confinement to include empowerment, reformation, and capacity building.

He praised the organizers for providing inmates both male and female with the opportunity to design, sew, and model garments made from traditional Ghanaian textiles and contemporary styles, stressing that such initiatives are critical in uncovering hidden talents and restoring dignity and self-confidence among incarcerated persons.

He further applauded the Think Prisons 360 Degrees initiative and the supporting fashion brands and professionals for their collaboration, describing such partnerships as essential to effective rehabilitation and successful reintegration into society.

Nii Nai Gogo encouraged policymakers, security institutions, and the private sector to support and scale similar initiatives nationwide, emphasizing that investing in rehabilitation and vocational skills is fundamental to building safer communities and a more sustainable national development agenda.
