

On behalf of the President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, on Monday, August 18, 2025, inaugurated the newly constituted Board of the Energy Commission.
The swearing-in ceremony, held in Accra, marks a significant step in Ghana’s ongoing energy sector reforms and the drive toward a sustainable green transition. The new Board brings together a blend of academic, technical, and public service experience to guide the Commission’s mandate of regulating and managing the development and utilization of energy resources in Ghana.


The members of the new Board are:

1. Prof. John Gartchie Gatsi – Chairman

2. Mrs. Eunice A. Biritwum – Acting Executive Secretary


3. Dr. Audrey Smock Amoah – Member
4. Mr. Danny Adzei Anang – Member
5. Ms. Lorm Ama Abledu – Member
6. Prof. Dr. Ernest Ofori Asamoah – Member
7. Hon. Naser Mahama Toure – Member
The Management and Staff of the Energy Commission have extended a warm welcome to the Chairman and Members of the Board, expressing confidence in their collective leadership to drive forward the Commission’s strategic objectives.
The new Board is expected to play a key role in policy implementation, regulatory oversight, and stakeholder engagement within Ghana’s dynamic energy sector.
