On September 4, 2025, the National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA), in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service (GES), the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), and the National Teaching Council (NTC), held a high-level engagement with representatives of various private pre-tertiary education associations across Ghana. The meeting focused on addressing pressing issues within the sector and strengthening collaboration between public regulatory bodies and private educational institutions.

Key topics discussed included the licensing of schools and teachers, inspection and monitoring processes, and avenues for enhancing support to private pre-tertiary institutions. The dialogue aimed to foster transparency, mutual understanding, and long-term cooperation to uplift the quality of education for all learners.

The Inspector-General of Schools, Professor Azeko Salifu Tahiru, expressed his satisfaction with the productive nature of the engagement. He described the meeting as a significant step towards building a robust and collaborative framework that ensures the smooth and effective operation of private pre-tertiary education in the country.

Representatives from the private school associations lauded the initiative, commending NaSIA, NaCCA, GES, and NTC for convening such a timely and impactful forum. They reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining the relationship and working together with state agencies to uphold educational standards and promote student success.

In attendance at the event were several key stakeholders, including Mr. Felix Kofi Amegah, Deputy Inspector-General of Schools in charge of Operations; Professor Samuel Ofori Bekoe, Director-General of NaCCA; Mr. Eric Amoah, Deputy Director of NaCCA; Dr. Cecilia Esinam Agbeh, Deputy Registrar of the NTC; and a representative from the office of the Director-General of GES.

NaSIA reiterated its unwavering commitment to maintaining and enhancing quality assurance mechanisms within the pre-tertiary education sector in Ghana.
