MTN Ghana Foundation has over the years spent a total amount of GHs 106.5 million on social project.
It has succeeded in completing 166 social projects and impacted 4.5million lives nationwide.
The foregoing milestone of achievements were disclosed by Nii Adotey Mingle, the General Manager, MTN Northern Sector at the 2024 Edition of Editors forum, held on Wednesday, 24th July, 2024 at the Lancaster Hotel in Kumasi.
Breakdown on completed number of projects is;
- Education -90
- Health Care- 55,
- Economic Empowerment- 15 and
- Community Support Initiatives- 6
Nii Mingle informed the media that MTN Ghana is incorporating digital capability and skills training into its programme in other to achieve the Foundation’s 75% target by the year 2025.
Year 2025 per officials’ strategic re-refocusing will witness the execution of digital projects including the Mamfe Girls Robotics lab, Yilo Krobo 40-seater ICT project, Wiamoase ICT facility-equipment etc.
Community support programs centred on equipping youth, women, differently abled persons with digital skills training and interventions such as vocational skills training and educational and health infrastructure will all be carried out next year.
He announced at the forum that as a Telecommunications giant, they will continue to work to develop innovative strategies to expand inclusiveness in their digital financial space.
Nii Adotey Mingle underscored that the company has repackaged it’s digital business solution platforms to ensure easy access to business innovative products to boost operations of small and medium scale enterprises as well as individuals, irrespective of where one operated.
