The Ashanti Regional chapter of MTN Ghana has donated food items worth GHs 10,000 to the office of the Ashanti regional Chief Imam.
Addition to the package was a wired cash of GHs 10,000.
According to officials of the telecommunication giant, the gesture showcases MTN’s appreciation of the persistent loyalty shown to them by Muslims in the region, regarding the patronage of their services and products.
Also it’s MTN’s way of showing their support and love to Muslims as they draw close to the end of the holy month of fasting.
Among the food items were bags of rice, assorted soft drinks, packs of bottled water, boxes of cooking oil, a ram, etc.
They were presented at the forecourt of the Kumasi Central Mosque on Wednesday, 26th March, 2025.
Alhaji Ustaz Ahmed Seidu, Executive Secretary to the regional Chief Imam received them on behalf of the Chief Imam and the entire Muslim communities in the region.
Addressing the media, Alhaji Ustaz thanked MTN Ghana for the gesture.
He said MTN has been persistent in their support to Muslims.
“MTN is a friend to Muslims. This is not the first time they are doing this and I hope today will not be the last time.
We will keep on praying for the success of MTN Ghana”, he stated.
Simon Amoh, Senior Manager of General Trade-MTN Ghana described the donation as a ritual done annually, saying MTN identifies itself with every belief.
Aside Ashanti region’s donation, he brought to light that same was done across the country.
He wished Muslims all the best as they come to the end of the month of fasting.
