The Member of Parliament for Bantama Constituency, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has reaffirmed the critical role of student activism in shaping the future of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), following a meeting with executives of the Tertiary Students Confederacy of the New Patriotic Party (TESCON) from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

The meeting, held at the MP’s office, brought together the current leadership of the UPSA branch of TESCON, led by its President, Daniel Obeng Danquah.

Discussions focused on the group’s programme of action for the year and the strategic role TESCON is expected to play in what the MP described as the “next phase” of the NPP’s political journey.

Mr. Asenso-Boakye expressed satisfaction with the engagement, describing it as productive and forward-looking.

He commended the student leaders for their clarity of vision, energy, and commitment to strengthening the party’s grassroots structures through activism and innovative ideas.
“It was a pleasure receiving the executives and learning about their plans for the year. Their enthusiasm and sense of purpose are encouraging,” he noted.
The Bantama MP emphasized that TESCON remains a vital mobilization and intellectual arm of the party, serving as a training ground for future leaders and policy influencers.
He urged the student body to remain focused, disciplined, and proactive in advancing the party’s ideals within tertiary institutions across the country.
According to him, grassroots engagement particularly among the youth and student population will be instrumental in consolidating the gains of the party and positioning it strongly for future political contests.
The UPSA TESCON executives, for their part, outlined their planned activities aimed at deepening political education, expanding membership, and fostering policy discussions on campus.
They also reiterated their commitment to supporting the broader objectives of the NPP.
The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by party leaders to engage and empower youth structures as the NPP charts its path forward.
