Dynamic Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), has reaffirmed the Government of Ghana’s commitment to supporting foreign investment in strategic sectors such as digital technology, infrastructure, and trade.

His remarks came during a meeting with His Excellency Mohamed Bin Abdulla Al Marzooqi, Chairman of the Al Marzooqi Group, as part of efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation between Ghana and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Hon. George emphasized that the government welcomes credible private sector investment in priority areas including data centres, cybersecurity, blockchain technology, and artificial intelligence.

While Ghana currently operates a national data centre, he noted that there is ample opportunity for private entities to establish additional facilities serving banks, telecom companies, and other industries, provided they meet regulatory standards.
Highlighting blockchain as a key area of interest, the Minister pointed to its potential use in digitising land records at the Lands Commission; an initiative aimed at reducing disputes and enhancing transparency.

He also shared plans by the Ministry to establish a centralised Security Operations Centre (SOC) to better coordinate cybersecurity efforts across sectors such as finance, telecommunications, energy, and public institutions.
He assured the UAE delegation of the government’s readiness to provide regulatory support to investors aligned with national development goals.
In response, His Excellency Mohamed Bin Abdulla Al Marzooqi—who also serves as a private consultant to members of the Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah Royal Families—outlined the purpose of his business mission to Ghana, which runs from 30th September to 8th October 2025.
He stated that the visit aims to strengthen business ties between Ghana and the UAE, with a focus on collaboration in digital technology, education, logistics, real estate, and trade.
Mr. Al Marzooqi highlighted his Group’s interest in introducing innovative solutions such as container-based data centres, AI-powered educational technologies, and advanced cybersecurity systems. He affirmed the Al Marzooqi Group’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s development agenda and noted that the company is also in active discussions with other countries, including India and Germany, on similar initiatives.
