Hon. Samuel Nartey George, Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, has reaffirmed Ghana’s dedication to building a people-centered, inclusive, and development-oriented digital society.

The Minister made the remarks while addressing the UN High-level Meeting on the overall review of the implementation of the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS+20) this past Tuesday.

In his address, Minister Samuel Nartey George highlighted Ghana’s progress in several key areas, including expanding national connectivity, strengthening digital public infrastructure, enhancing cybersecurity and data protection frameworks, and advancing ethical governance of artificial intelligence (AI).

He also emphasized the country’s proactive measures to combat misinformation and disinformation, while underlining the importance of digital inclusion and international cooperation as essential tools for achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Concluding his statement, the Minister reiterated his commitment to public service, signing off with the words: “In service for God and Country.”

Ghana’s participation in the WSIS+20 review reflects its continued effort to position itself as a leader in digital innovation and governance on the global stage.
