The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, on Thursday, 13th November 2025, visited the 37 Military Hospital to sympathize with victims who sustained injuries during a stampede at the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) recruitment exercise held at the El-Wak Stadium.

The visit formed part of the Minister’s efforts to engage with the injured, monitor their recovery, and offer support on behalf of the Government. Hon. Dr. Lartey delivered a message of solidarity from both the President and the people of Ghana, assuring the victims that the nation stood firmly behind them in their time of distress.

She further encouraged the injured to remain hopeful, expressing confidence in their full recovery and in the brighter future that lies ahead. The Minister also commended the medical staff and hospital management for their swift and dedicated response in providing care to those affected by the incident.

Accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Defence and officials from the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP), Hon. Dr. Lartey extended her outreach beyond the hospital. The delegation visited bereaved families in Adenta and Kpone Katamanso to offer condolences and share in their grief.

The Minister conveyed government’s deepest sympathies, assuring the families of sustained support during this painful period. She emphasized her belief that God would grant the families strength and comfort, adding that the Ministry would continue to stand with them throughout their healing journey.

“The Ministry will walk with you through the healing process and, by way of social protection, ensure that your future does not end with what has happened,” she said.

Hon. Dr. Naa Momo Lartey noted that visits to other affected families would continue in the coming days as part of the Ministry’s commitment to providing compassion, reassurance, and long-term support.
