Implementers of the Mensah Mental Health Rehabilitation Project (MEMHREP) embarked on a nationwide donation to scores of recovered mental health patients on Easter Monday, 20th April, 2025.
Donated items were foodstuff, second-hand clothing, drugs and amount of cash to each.
The entire exercise was crowned with the Ashanti region’s version which was held at Ekyem of the Ejisu Municipality.
It covered close to 200 persons who through the support of the project have now reached a recovery stage after years of battling with the illness.
Founder and Director for MEMHREP, Mr. Mensah Adu Gyamfi made a presentation of the cash to them.
He said during the presentation that the gesture was a way of celebrating Easter with them, saying that since the inception of the project in 2011, MEMHREP has offered medical and financial support to them.
He assured that the project will never abate its support for persons with mental illness.
Mr. Adu-Gyamfi expressed that the project aims to enhance and maintain their well-being by providing them with high-quality health care, focusing particularly on the most underprivileged ones.
Beneficiaries
Isaac Mensah, a recovered patient thanked Mr. Mensah Adu-Gyamfi for the support.
He said before MEMHREP came to his aide, he was disregarded by society due to his mental condition.
“But for MEMHREP, I would not have recovered from that condition.
Officials of the project accepted me, gave me the medical and financial support I needed to make me who I am today.”
Christina Boakye, also shared that MEMHREP has not ceased offering her medical support since the time officials of the project came her way.

MEMHREP is a mental health rehabilitation project which was established in 2011 to support people with mental health needs or other vulnerabilities.
It is a charity (non-governmental) organization which seeks to end distress and plights of persons with mental health needs as well as promoting good mental health.
It is tasked with gradually alleviating mental health issues around the globe to help improve the standard and beauty of living.
It provides preventive and befriending services to support people living in the community.
