The Mayor of Accra, Hon. Michael Kpakpo Allotey, has expressed his satisfaction with the quality of meals provided to pupils under the Ghana School Feeding Programme in the metropolis.

The Mayor’s commendation followed unannounced visits to several basic schools, including the Aayalolo Cluster of Schools, John Wesley Methodist, and Accra Sempe Primary Schools, where he personally assessed food preparation and portion sizes.

Describing the meals as “nice” and “delicious,” Hon. Allotey emphasized that if he could eat the food himself, it would certainly be suitable for the children.

During his visit to the Aayalolo Cluster of Schools, the Mayor engaged with teachers who highlighted several infrastructural challenges, including the need for additional washrooms and a secure school gate.

He assured staff that the Accra Metropolitan Assembly would support efforts to address these concerns.

The surprise inspection forms part of the Assembly’s ongoing commitment to ensure the Ghana School Feeding Programme maintains high standards of nutrition and safety for schoolchildren.
