A highly embittered supporter of NPP has shared a bitter experience vis-a-vis an alleged fake cheque she received from officials of Microfinance and Small Loans Center (MASLOC) during the regime of the Nana Addo-led administration.

Yaa Pokuaa a.k.a “Obaa Yaa Race Course” is a famous trader within the CBD of Kumasi.

Sharing her ordeal, she narrated that in the year 2020, she applied for MASLOC loan to expand her business.

After satisfying all the eligibility criteria for the loan, she said she received a call from the head office of MASLOC that her loan has been approved and should come to Accra for the cheque to cash out the money at Omni Bank, a financial institution of her choice.

I applied for a loan of GHs 20,000 but when I went to the MASLOC office they gave me cheque of GHs19,500

“Though I didn’t get the money I requested, I was not bothered because I needed the money badly for my business.”

Obaa Yaa Race Course told this medium that, arriving in Kumasi after taking the cheque from MASLOC officials, she went to Omni Bank to cash out the money only to be told that there is no money in the account.

“When I complained to MASLOC officials, they referred me to Ghana Commercial Bank to Withdraw the money. I went there but was told by the tellers that there is no money in the account. I went there three times and was told the same story.”

She said she formally informed Chairman Wontumi, Nana B and other top Ashanti regional and national executives of the party “but they brushed the matter under the carpet.”

In the middle of the interview, Obaa Yaa Race Course broke into tears for close to 2 minutes after calling to memory how she toils vociferously for NPP only to be rewarded with a fake Cheque.
