Lord Mayor Rohey Malick Lowe (Boss of Banjul City) Writes on Her Visit To SOHM of Foni Western Region
On an invitation from the women and youth of SOHM a village in Foni Western Region.
I visited the village together with the REFELA National Cordinator Madam Isatou Njie and the REFELA west coast coordinators.
We visited the women garden and the Arabic school. There was a cultural display and a honorary citizenship bestowed to me by the villagers.
I am grateful to Banna Jarju one of our Cordinators and to the entire village of SOHM.
As part of our conversations with the villagers, they highlighted the lack of a borehole to ease their gardening activities.
They have also mentioned the need to have fencing around the perimeters of the farm to avoid instrusion of animals into the farm.
From there, my team went on to visit the Arabic school in the village who also communicated their struggles.
I am happy to share that my team was able to resolve these pressing issues immediately to provide a conducive learning environment for the students especially for the girls.
