As Muslims across the country observe Ramadan, Logeist Group Limited has stepped in to support the Muslim community in Kumasi with a donation of food items valued at GH¢100,000.

The presentation took place on Friday at the Kumasi Central Mosque, where the items were handed over to the Office of the Ashanti Regional Chief Imam.

The donation included bags of rice, sugar, canned milk and other essential commodities, as well as an undisclosed sum of money to further support the cause.

The Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, Sheikh Zakaria Abdul Rahman Sulaiman, received the items on behalf of the Muslim faithful in the region.

Addressing the gathering, Group Manager of Logeist Group Limited, Benjamin Karikari Dwira, said the initiative forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme.

He explained that Ramadan is a period of reflection, sacrifice and compassion, and the company deemed it necessary to extend a helping hand to the less privileged.

According to him, some Muslims, particularly the vulnerable, struggle to afford basic meals to break their fast, and the donation is intended to ease that burden.

He added that the company has undertaken similar philanthropic activities in other regions, although many of them were done discreetly.
Mr. Karikari assured the Muslim community of the company’s continued commitment to supporting humanitarian causes.

On behalf of the Chief Imam, the Public Relations Officer of Kumasi Central Mosque, Imam Mohammed Isah, expressed deep appreciation for the timely gesture.

He described the donation as overwhelming and pledged that the items would be distributed fairly to Muslims who are most in need.

He also encouraged other organisations to emulate the example of Logeist Group Limited by extending support to vulnerable groups during the Ramadan season.
