The leadership of the Kumasi City Market Limited (KCML) comprising the 11-Member Steering Committee, the Combined Traders Association, and the Concerned Traders Group, paid a courtesy call on Hon. Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, the Mayor of Kumasi.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Nana Prempeh congratulated the Mayor on his appointment and assured him of their unwavering support as he leads the city.
The group also took the opportunity to present their petitions regarding the KCML facility and shared key concerns affecting their operations. A symbolic gift was presented to the Mayor as a gesture of goodwill.
In response, Hon. Ofori-Agyeman expressed his deep appreciation for their show of confidence and solidarity.
He acknowledged the challenges faced by traders and assured them of his commitment together with the Board to addressing their issues.
“You pay various taxes and levies to the GRA and KMA. The least we can do is to ensure trading traffic is directed to the facility, to help you fulfill your obligations to state institutions,” he emphasized.
The Mayor pledged to work closely with the traders to ensure progress and mutual success.
