The Ekuona family of New Juabeng has appointed Lawyer William Kusi, Esq. as its new Abusuapanin, following the passing of the late Abusuapanin, Emmanuel Antwi Boateng, who was widely respected for his leadership and dedication to family unity and tradition.

The late Abusuapanin, who was the elder brother of Lawyer Kusi, was laid to rest over the weekend in a solemn ceremony attended by family members, traditional leaders, and members of the local community.

His leadership was remembered for its integrity, wisdom, and his tireless efforts to uphold the values of the family and preserve its cultural heritage.

In accordance with customary practice, the family convened after the burial to select a new leader. In a unanimous decision reflecting broad consensus, Lawyer William Kusi was chosen to assume the role of Abusuapanin of the Ekuona Abusua.

Accepting the position, Mr. Kusi expressed deep appreciation for the trust placed in him and pledged to continue the legacy of his late brother. He emphasized that the role of Abusuapanin is not merely a title, but a commitment to serve, unite, and advance the welfare of the family.

“This is not just a position but a sacred duty. Together, we will build on the legacy of our forebears and move forward in unity and progress,” he said during his acceptance.

His installation marks a new chapter for the Ekuona Abusua, which, while mourning the loss of a respected patriarch, now looks ahead with renewed hope and a strengthened sense of continuity under its newly appointed head.

Lawyer William Kusi brings with him a distinguished background in law and public service, which family members believe will enhance his leadership in preserving the values and cohesion of the Abusua.
