In a heartfelt gesture to mark his birthday, the Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Kwasi Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, extended support to the Kumasi Female Prison by donating a range of essential items to inmates.
Though unable to attend in person due to a prior engagement, the Mayor was represented by his beautiful wife, who led the donation exercise on his behalf.
Among the items presented were bags of rice, cooking oil, sanitary pads, toilet rolls, and notably, a brand-new sewing machine gifted to an inmate—fulfilling a promise previously made by the Mayor.
The donation was aimed at encouraging rehabilitation and offering hope to the incarcerated women, highlighting the Mayor’s commitment to social welfare and community upliftment.
“This gesture is not only about giving,” the Mayor shared in a message, “but about empowering these women with tools and inspiration for a better future.”
The initiative was warmly received by prison officials and the inmates, who expressed deep appreciation for the Mayor’s continued support.
