Old Girls Association of Kumasi Girls Senior High School has put up an ultramodern 30-seater washroom for their alma mater.
It was commissioned during the association’s homecoming celebration which was held on Sunday on the theme “Uniting in Purpose, Celebrating Our Legacy”.
Aside the foregoing, the group also created a student support fund to offer financial assistance to needy but brilliant students of the school.
New executives of the association were also sworn into office during the occasion.
Turning up at the celebration was the Member of Parliament for Bantama Constitutency, Hon. Asenso-Boakye, Hon. Hannah Bisiw and other renowned dignitaries.
Hon. Asenso-Boakye remarking on his official Facebook page described the institution a great, saying he takes pride, not only in representing the school but also in being partner in its continuous growth.
“May Kumasi Girls SHD continue to nurture generations of brilliant minds and responsible leaders”, he scribbled on his page.
Addressing the media, President for the association, Ohemaa Faustina Wallington said considering the many years of the school’s existence, it was therefore needful bringing all old girls of the school under one umbrella so as to offer support for their alma mater.
So labelled as impressive, the rate at which the alumnae are registering to be part of the group.
Headmistress for the school, Mrs Adellaide Biyaa Powers thanked the aluminae for the support.
In her admonision, she urged students of the school to take their lessons serious and make effective utilization of their time in school.
