The Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Kwasi Ofori Boadi Agyemang, has officially handed over the site for the construction and redevelopment of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Clinic into a modern pediatric hospital facility.

In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, the Mayor said the new facility, when completed, will significantly reduce pressure on the city’s limited child healthcare infrastructure, particularly the Adum Pampaso Children’s Hospital and the privately owned Asokwa Children’s Hospital.

According to Hon. Ofori Boadi Agyemang, the project forms part of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly’s broader agenda to improve healthcare delivery and ensure accessible, quality medical services for children in Kumasi and surrounding communities.
“The new pediatric hospital will enhance child healthcare delivery and provide quality pediatric services to the people of Kumasi and its environs,” the Mayor stated.

The construction project is expected to be completed within 18 months and will offer modern facilities dedicated to pediatric care, marking a major milestone in the city’s health sector development.
The initiative underscores ongoing efforts by the Assembly and stakeholders in the Ashanti Region to strengthen social infrastructure and improve the well-being of residents.
