Percival Kofi Akpaloo, leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana, has fired back at journalist Godsbrain Kwadwo Captain Smart over recent criticisms.

The conflict arose after Captain Smart accused Akpaloo of capitalizing on the death of Akua Donkor by associating with her family.

Responding during an interview on Kingdom FM, Akpaloo did not hold back, calling Captain Smart a “notorious thief” in Kumasi. He further alleged that Captain Smart had once been imprisoned for theft and claimed to have personally given him financial assistance in the past.

This is not the first time Captain Smart has faced such accusations.

Abro, a Kumasi-based commentator, previously claimed that Captain Smart’s house in Kumasi was demolished and that he had been arrested for theft.

The feud between Akpaloo and Captain Smart highlights ongoing tensions between politics and journalism in Ghana. It raises questions about personal attacks and their implications for public discourse.

As this dispute continues, many are left wondering how it will influence perceptions of these figures and the broader media and political landscape in Ghana.
