The construction of a multi-purpose car park is ongoing within the Central Business District of the Kumasi Metropolis.
It is a 12-storey facility.
After completion, it will be a one-centered project, that will accommodate in a day, close to 1,500 cars that comes to the CBD.
Addition to it are 3 modern toilet facilities (50 seater toilet
Construction of the project is through a partnership with the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly and KFMUTTMS Ltd.
Officials have settled on naming it after the overlord of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Location
It is situated on a one-acre land at Adum, close to the Kumasi Central Prisons.
Contractor is 60 percent done with the construction of the substructure and its expected to be completed within a year.
Engaging the media on 1st October, 2024, Mr. Edward Asare, Project Manager of the facility said the aim is to decongest the CBD so as to promote free flow of vehicular and human traffic.
He indicated that, the project will increase productivity and enhance business growth for the benefit of all.
