Kennedy Agyapong was right!

Ohemeng Ian Moore writes:

It is an incontestable fact that president Kuffour used 4 months to obtain 39% in his first attempt as Npp’s flagbearer. The so-called so-and-so months being ‘merchandised’ by our brothers on the other side is quite funny. Again, it is not true that president Kuffour started campaign right after he was elected as our flagbearer. If we are to go by what some people are saying, that would mean president Kuffour selected his running mate the very day he was elected or even before he was elected and will suggest that his running mate didn’t go through party hierarchy for due deligence before he was endorsed.

We must not forget that the flagbearer needed time to solicit funds for campaign and that was another herculean task president Kuffour encountered. In addition, President Kuffour and the Npp needed time for reconciliation as others were disgruntled just as it happens in recent contests.

Now, when president Kuffour garnered 39% in that short campaign period of 4 months, there was a convention to the effect that anytime the party was in opposition, there was the need for early elections. This is because the party was of the view that if president Kuffour had had enough time to campaign, we would have won the 1996 general elections.
For anyone to claim that president Kuffour started his campaign a day after he was elected would mean that there was no ‘outdooring’ of the running mate, no campaign launch, no solicitation for campaign funds, no due deligence done on the running mate, no reconciliation, no formation of the national, regional and constituency campaign teams.

Before we go to town with nonfa, we must consult the elders in our party for correct information.
