Veteran Ghanaian actress Grace Omaboe, popularly known as Maame Dokono, has revealed that over the course of her illustrious acting career, she has extended her generosity to various individuals, including legendary Ghanaian footballer Asamoah Gyan.

Speaking on Happy FM, Maame Dokono shared that her acts of kindness weren’t limited to those within the entertainment industry but also encompassed individuals from corporate and medical backgrounds.

While she didn’t delve into specifics regarding the assistance provided, Maame Dokono cited Asamoah Gyan and Shatta Wale as examples of individuals she had supported throughout her career.

“I helped a lot of people in this country. Asamoah Gyan and Shatta Wale are two of the people I helped. Shatta Wale passed through my hands at some stage. Some of the people I helped are bankers and doctors, amongst others. I did that because I don’t want to see people suffer,” she said.

During a 2018 interview with TV3, Maame Dokono shared insights into her role in nurturing the creative careers of individuals like Shatta Wale and Asamoah Gyan.

She elaborated on how she provided them with opportunities to showcase their talents on the renowned show, By The Fire Side, which was popular at the time.

“Shatta Wale was a gong-gong beater in By the Fireside… he’s one of the numerous persons I have helped,” she stated.

Asamoah Gyan is celebrated as the top scorer in the history of the Black Stars, having netted 51 goals during his illustrious career.
